When I think about blogging as a teacher, I wonder what value it can bring to me and others who may read my blog. It could be helpful to other teachers to read about my experiences that I have in my classroom, and be able to connect with those experiences in their classroom to help look at things with a different perspective. At first, it seems like a lot of extra time and effort to put into your day, but in the end it could help you to put things into perspective and learn from yourself as well.

In George Couros's blog, he talks about using a blog for the purpose of reflection. When we take the time to reflect on our teaching practice, we will become better teachers. As well. by reflecting on my own practice, I can help other teachers to reflect on theirs as well. Together we can become better learners, which makes us better teachers. AJ Juliani wrote a blog about why blogs still matter in 2017. He says, "It doesn’t matter how much technology grows or infiltrates our world, learning from each other’s experiences is one of the most human acts we can ever do". The best way to learn is through others who have already been there and can tell you what works and what doesn't. This way, someone has already done half of the work for you and you can just take what you learned from others and apply it to your own classroom. Ray Salazar wrote a blog of the top 10 reasons teachers should blog. One of the reasons he points out, that I think is really important, is the ability to help others figure out what to do. Since we all face similar challenges in the classroom, we can help each other out to find alternative solutions to problems we may have, or help create new ideas. Blogging can be a great way to make you a better teacher.
