Practicum Student

2020-2021

I am currently in a full time 12 week practicum in a Grade 3 class where I am teaching 100%, including  Music, Literacy, Numeracy, Art, Social and Science. I also completed an Extended Practicum Experience (EPE) which allowed me to be a part of the same classroom from September - May.

Practicum Student

I completed a 5 week full time practicum where I taught 50% of the course load in Grade 5. I created the lessons and facilitated the learning for Grade 5 Language Arts, Math and Health.

I had the opportunity to observe and assist in a literacy class and work with the students on their literacy skill development. It taught me the importance of implementing purposeful activities to improve students literacy skills.

2017/2018

I was fortunate to do 2 semesters, totally in 53 hours, of practicum experience in a Grade 9 STEM class. I was hands on with the students and created a lesson for them in Chemistry. I learned how to build relationships with the students and observe from my mentor teacher what it takes to be a great teacher.

Young Entrepreneurs Program

2018

I volunteer for the YEP Program with the Grade 7's and helped them to come up with a product and business plan and hosted a 'Dragons Den' to provide the students the opportunity to pitch me ideas and sign a contract through Enactus to make their products. I assisted them on getting prepared to sell their products at a trade show. It was a very rewarding experience

and an opportunity to build student relationships.

 

Redcliff Minor Hockey Association

Team Manager/ Tournament Director

2010-2016

I was the Team Manager and/or Tournament Director for several years, responsible for organizing games,activites and tournaments for a hockey team of youth between the ages of 7-14.

 

Redcliff Tiny Tots Preschool

President/Vice President

2007, 2010-2013

I served as President/ Vice President of the Preschool and attended regular meetings to help make decisions regarding the

preschools operations.

 

Education
MEDICINE HAT COLLEGE / MOUNT ROYAL UNIVERSITY

2017 - present

I am currently in the Bachelor of Education Program studying to become a teacher, I am also a member of the EUS and a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
